Persian
traditional rugs are perhaps the most familiar group featuring
rugs from Tebriz, Kerman, Meshed, Kashan, Isfahan and
Qum. These rugs are woven on cotton foundations and feature
both the symmetrical (Ghiordes) knot or asymmetrical (Senneh)
knot. Persian traditonal rugs are noticable by their heavy
use of shades of red and blue as well as displaying an
ornate medallion and floral arabesques.
